Looking for more adventurous projects? Join us for a knitting group! Share ideas and expertise while working on independent projects or knit-alongs. Preparation for U.S. CitizenshipWe are offering classes to assist interested persons in the process of becoming American citizens. To become a citizen you must be at least 18 years old, have a permanent residence card for five years (three years if you are married to a U.S. citizen), and believe in the U.S. Constitution. Weekly information classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6 pm to 8:45 pm at the main library in Garnerville. Both classes must be attended. These classes will inform attendees of the process of becoming a citizen and give assistance with filling out the N-400 application for United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. There will also be information about getting a waiver of the fee in cases of financial hardship. Classes will be taught by Jane Lemkin, a Literacy Volunteer. Jane has taught and assisted over 100 applicants to a successful interview and acceptance as U.S. Citizens.
