Waiting For You Book Club

Patrons who join the WAITING FOR YOU BOOK CLUB @ the Haverstraw King’s Daughters Public Library will automatically be put on the list for new books by their favorite fiction authors. Consider it one less thing you have to think about!

How It Works:
Place a check mark next to the names of up to 5 authors from the preselected list of best-selling authors in our form. Each time your chosen author publishes a new novel, you will be added to the reserve list for the new release. While we cannot guarantee how close to the top of the list you will be, you’ll be on it without having to place the reserve. Staff at Haverstraw King’s Daughters Library will inform you when something new is waiting for you.

How to Join:
Complete and submit our online form or pick up a form from the Reference or Circulation desk. Paper forms can be submitted at the Reference Desk.

More About the Service:
This service is available to HKDPL cardholders only and is for new titles only; reprints will generally not be included. Please pick up books promptly when notified of their availability. Because of their popularity, these books are in high demand. We ask that you be considerate of those who are waiting.

Online Book Club

Join our Online Book Club. Every day, Monday through Friday, you will receive in your email a five-minute selection from a chapter of a book. By the end of the week, you'll have read 2-3 chapters. Every Monday, we start a new book. Sign up and start reading!

Genre's include Fiction, Business, Science Fiction, Audio, Non-Fiction, Romance, Mystery, Pre-Publication, Teen, Good News and Horror.

If you find a book you would like to continue, check out our online catalog and borrow it out!

Senior Book Discussion Group

This small but active group meets in the afternoon on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Library at Rosman Center. Occasionally we view movies made from the books we've read and compare the movie version to the book. Another viewpoint is always welcome.

??? Book Club

Would you be interested in joining a book discussion group on a weekday evening? Do you have a specific genre you like to read? Are you interested in joining a great group of people who like to read what you like? Please give Cathy a call at 786-3800, ext. 22 if you are interested.
