2007 continued with more Adult programs from many bus trips; Culinary Institute, Brotherhood Winery, the Met (Metropolitan Museum
of Art); to amazing performances such as Zumba and From Fledermaus to Fiddler. November brought us Senior Idol
where patrons performed and competed to become the library's first Senior Idol star! Congratulations to all the winners:

On October 19th, we held another Loud Noises @ the Library, a popular performance in which local bands perform to crowds
of Teens. Performers that night were Silence the Feedback, Brian Milligram, Disarranged, Ciano,
Snagged, 7 and a Switchblade, Time for Plan B and Codename: Morocco.View image collection (14 images) >> Meet Author Robert Lipsyte!
October brought us a special visit from renowned author Robert Lipsyte whose books include The Contender,
One Fat Summer, Raiders Night, Yellow Flag and countless more. His visit included a short speech,

July 13th brought another night of rockin' music with our Loud Noises @ the Library show! Performers include Hello Nurse,
Silence the Feedback, Doorways for Deadbeats, The Rise and Fall, Winter Ashes, Greg Baldwin and the Aesthetics,

On May 12th we held a special Fair for Teens which brought several organisations to enlighten teens on
volunteer opportunites they can make. Organisations ranged from Meals on Wheels, the Epilepsy Society, the Youth Bureau,

The new year brought us many wonderful adult programs from plays, bus trips, musicals, and tours. Images are from The Distaff
Muse with Stacey Roth (March 18th), a Bus Trip to the Cloisters (April 22nd), Di Yam Gazlonim: A New Yiddish-English
Musical Comedy performed by the Gilbert & Sullivan Yiddish Light Opera Company of Long Island (May 20th), and the

We held a very special program called Crocheting for Kitties in Spring 2007 where participants learned how to crochet
while helping homeless cats. Positive responses from patrons brought a repeat of this wonderful program a couple of weeks

On March 7, 2007, we held a bus trip to Philadelphia where patrons enjoyed the Flower Show and later, the King Tut Exhibit
at the Franklin Institute. A small respite was taken at the Rose Tatoo Café for lunch. Check out the images to

During February, Chiku Awali performed exciting West African dances of welcome, celebration of strength and endurance,
and peace and blessings for the community. Performers included men, women, and children and even patrons joined in the fun

Held in February 2007, youths were able to celebrate Black History month with fun and traditional African crafts.

Take a look behind the scenes of Winter Band Night 2007! This special event held on January 5, 2007 featured local
bands Silence the Feedback, Southcott, Doorways for Deadbeats, Atrium, The Rise and Fall, Lechery, and 7

Kicking off the winter season was the Stage Door Canteen with The Judy Stadt Combo in November followed by a celebration
with the Marvelous Musical Martins in December 2006. Judy brought us music from the 40s while the Musical Martins rang in
with contemporary and traditional seasonal and holidy music with voices, instruments, and hand bells. To top it off, the

Catch a glilmpse of what patrons saw during this trip to the Doris Duke Estate in November 2006. The trip comprised
of three tours - a walking tour of eleven indoor gardens, a bus tour of the estate, and a tour of the Country Manor.View image collection (19 images) >> Pie and Punch at Mrs. Kearney's Tavern
In late October, a select few got to enjoy spiced wine punch, freshly baked pies, and good cheer, all by real candlelight
at Mrs. Kearney's Tavern near the Palisades Interstate Highway in New Jersey. They were also entertained by the Tavern

In October 2006, Haverstraw Library celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by holding one of several special programs:
"Grupo Taino Cultural de Bomba y Plena". A wonderful performance ensued where everyone enjoyed the music and

A 129 foot replica of the slave ship Amistad docked at the Haverstraw Marina in October 2006. To celebrate this
event, HKDPL showed Steven Spielberg's historical movie Amistad on October 9th to much acclaim and
attendance. Taking it a step further, staff members were able to take pictures of this magnificent ship.

New York Landmarks: The Grand Central Station & Waldorf AstoriaPatrons got a chance to visit two classic landmarks that define New York City: The Grand Central Terminal and luxury hotel The Waldorf=Astoria. The Adult Programs schedules and takes multiple trips throughout the year and in August 2005, many came to enjoy
Caramoor, a Mediterranena-style villa located in Katonah, NY. There, folks enjoyed a tour along with tea in the

View the memoriable grand opening of HKDPL's new branch at the Rosman Center at Garnerville in May 18, 2003.
This new library will become the Haverstraw King's Daughters Public Library's new main branch featuring state-of-the-art
check-in and check-in equipment, countless public computers, rooms for programs, tutors, quiet study, gallery,
