Main Library Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Haverstraw Library at Rosman Center Can you believe that the main library at Rosman Center has been open for five years? It is hard to imagine it's been that long, and mind-boggling to consider the changes in the collections and services that we make available to you. Consider these numbers: our adult book collection has grown over 12,000 items, our video and DVD collection has increased from 1,200 to over 10,000 and Youth Services has added nearly 5,000 items. Adult programming has gone from non-existent to a wide selection of programs for all tastes and interests.

The building is cared for by our excellent custodial staff, and many people comment on how clean and well-maintained every area of the building is. We have been able to make changes to reduce the number of lights kept on after hours, without sacrificing safety or requiring expensive rewiring of the building.

Our staff is always looking for ways to serve you better by listening to your requests, ideas, and concerns.

The Board of Trustees and I want to thank you for your continued support of the library. Our goal is to continue to provide services in the most cost-effective way. We believe that using the library provides you with the best possible value. Congratulations to the whole community for your support of our two fabulous facilities.

In Our Gallery

April & May - Snapshot of Haverstraw: 1985 - This exhibit is a selection of photographs from the Haverstraw Bay Photographic file owned by the Library. These photographs were taken throughout 1985 by Nancy Nichols Jagelka, as part of a grant funded by the Haverstraw King's Daughters Public Library and ACOR. Captured through Nancy's camera are some of the places and people of the Village of Haverstraw. Maybe you will recognize and remember someone or some place!

June - Students of artist Jonathan Trotta, ages 5 - 12, exhibit their cave paintings. The students are taking a workshop on the timeline of art history at the Garnerville Arts and Industrial Center.
