Read, explore, create and more!

Our Children's Department provides our youngest patrons a welcoming, safe environment
where they may play games, explore, study, read, be read to and grow. We provide many children's programs for toddlers to tweens
from storytime to book clubs. Age-appropriate materials and technological equipment such as our early literacy stations, iPads, and more are available for use. For assistance, our staff will be more than happy to help!

New Karen Weaver Children's Room

Introducing Karen Weaver Children's Room

On November 18, 2017, a dedication was made in honor of the late Karen Weaver, a long-time trustee of HKDPL, an educator, and a friend to all. Many patrons, library staff and board members shared some stories of Karen and the impact she had on the library. The Karen Weaver Children's Room is located at mid-level floor of the Main Library in Garnerville. Along with the naming, a lovely new mural was also created in Karen Weaver's honor. Do come and drop by the "new" Karen Weaver Children's Room!
